Minneapolis Central Library

About & History: The spectacular Hennepin County Library – Minneapolis Central made its grand debut to the public on May 20, 2006 as the first Minneapolis library to be built in over 40 years.  With a striking exterior and awe-inspiring interior, this Cesar Pelli-designed building has cemented its place as a Twin Cities architectural landmark.

Built with an emphasis on sustainability and a eco-friendliness, the forward-thinking designers included unique amenities such as columns made from recycled materials, a ‘green roof’ and energy efficient features.

One of the premier community gathering and destination spots in downtown Minneapolis, this extraordinary site inspires equally extraordinary meetings and events. A variety of spaces are available to suit your event’s needs.
