Minnesota Wine Country is celebrating its 4th year at the State Fair! The exhibit, a partnership between the Mintáhoe Catering & Events and the Minnesota Farm Winery Association, gives Fairgoers the opportunity to learn about and enjoy wines made right here in our fine state!
Back by popular demand - we've once again worked with Izzy's Ice Cream to craft a special State Fair treat—wine ice cream! Three flavors of the will be available for ice cream enthusiasts 21 and older: • Chocolate Raspberry: rich chocolate ice cream infused with raspberry wine from WineHaven Winery
• Apple Cinnamon: smooth ice cream flavored with Chinese and Vietnamese cinnamons infused with 'Jimmy Appleseed' apple wine from Glacial Ridge Winery

Mintáhoe Event Consultants receive 2009 ISES Spirit of Excellence & Esprit Awards Recognition
The 2009 International Special Event Society (ISES) Spirit of Excellence and Esprit Awards proved to be a celebratory affair for the Minneapolis/St. Paul chapter, and in particular for Mintáhoe's ISES representatives! Event Consultant Lynn Rivera was a recipient of an 'Excellence In Communications' award for her work as one of the Twin Cities ISES chapter communications directors.
Also receiving recognition was Event Consultant Joy Devous-Baker who in partnership with Alice-Lynne Olson of The Late Bloomer Floral Design Studio was a nominee for an ISES Esprit award for 'Best Social Event, budget under $75,000." The Spirit of Excellence and Esprit awards were part of the annual ISES Event World celebration where attendees and members recognized the efforts of a select few of the 49 individual ISES chapters. Those receiving the awards 'exemplify outstanding achievement in membership retention, growth, communications, programming and education, special projects or chapter administration. Nicollet Island Pavilion named Minnesota Bride magazine's Best of Bride Reception Site for 100+ guests at 2009 Awards
Mintáhoe was the proud recipient of a Minnesota Bride magazine 'Best Of' award during their annual Best of Bride awards gala held in July. Nicollet Island Pavilion was a nominee for both 'Best Outdoor Reception Site' as well as for 'Best Reception Site' for 100+ guests and took home the title of 'Best Reception Site' for its inaugural victory in that category. The Pavilion was the winner of Best Outdoor Reception Site from 2003-2007.
In the words of the magazine "Being declared the best of 2009 is no small feat when you think about who casts the votes: brides and grooms planning the biggest day of their lives. According to over 4,000 online ballots, these 40 vendors represent the best in business when it comes to all things bridal in Minnesota." Second Consecutive Year!
Mintáhoe awarded "Best On-Premise Catered Event of the Year" from NACE Twin Cities
The Twin Cities chapter of NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) named Mintáhoe Hospitality Group the recipient of 2008's “Best On-Premise Catered Event of the Year” award at their 2009 Awards ceremony. This is the second consecutive year Mintáhoe has received the honor.
Event Consultant Lisa Brenna was the force behind the winning event which showcased innovative ideas for putting together a creative picnic menu for the guests, fellow catering and events industry professionals. The winning event's menu included:
• Build-Your-Own Gazpacho with 20+ 'add-in' ingredients
• BBQ beef short ribs with fiery diablo, honey mustard and tangy garlic sauces, cajun coleslaw and jalapeno cornbread
• Rosemary, mustard and garlic infused oils with assorted breads
• Lemon blackberry tiramisu
• 'Relish the Garden' fresh vegetable display with tomato romesco, garlic white bean and creamy pesto dips
• Latin mango martinis - recipe here!
• Melon shooters with Thai chili pepper simple syrup

Mintáhoe Shines as a Winner and Sponsor at the 2009 ISES Awards
The International Special Event Society's Minnesota Star Awards, held March 20, were especially bright for the team at Mintáhoe. Event Consultant Joy Devous-Baker shone as the winner of 'Best Catered Event' for the Private Preview Party of The Container Store. Joy worked in partnership with her culinary department colleagues to present the ultimate in creative catering all served in The Container Store's very own containers! This swanky soirée was a huge hit, and you can see why by checking out images from the event here.
Event Consultant Nicole Aronson also sparkled as a nominee for 'Best Social Event Planning: Budget $25,001+' Aronson collaborated with Studio Six Specialty Linen & Decor, Aprés Party and Tent Rental and Floral Logic on the nominated event—a spectacular black-tie wedding event held at Nicollet Island Pavilion.
A platinum sponsor of the 2009 ISES Star Awards, Mintáhoe hosted the celebration's 'Fairytale' room. Guests entered the wonderland-like room and were greeted by everything from a dancing ballerina to an enchanted talking mirror, and to top it all off—a pony! The food included 'Dragons Breath Stuffed Apples' filled with andouille sausage, cranberry cheese and poached in cinnamon and brandy; demitasse porridge with flambé plums; seasoned lamb satays with a cucumber garlic sauce and fried Szechuan edamame with hummus. Mintáhoe Serves up a Taste of Minnesota to Media From Around the World!
When the Republican National Convention rolled into town earlier this Fall, they were accompanied by thousands of journalists and members of the media. Partnering with the 2008 Host Committee and a slew of local sponsors, Mintáhoe helped give them a big Minnesota welcome at the pre-convention Official Media Party, held in the downtown Minneapolis Riverfront District. Visitors got to check out this unique part of the city while enjoying live music and a taste of the Land of Lakes! Mintáhoe served up a menu featuring Minnesota-grown produce with a splash of summer fun! Items included Minnesota wild rice chicken paella, grilled portobello mushrooms, watermelon gazpacho, fresh roasted sweet corn and a zesty red and black bean salad. Mintáhoe Honored as 10-year Member of International Special Events Society
The Twin Cities chapter of ISES (International Special Event Society) marked its ten-year anniversary in September with a celebratory program at its monthly gathering. The anniversary festivities included the debut of the "Membership Milestone" program created to honor those members who continue to promote and support ISES efforts. As members of the local chapter since its inception, Mintáhoe received special recognition for our participation over the last decade. Mintahoe, in partnership with the MFWA was the host of the exhibit and served ten different wines by the glass or in wine flights, in addition to offering food pairings. The Twin Cities chapter of NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) named Mintáhoe Hospitality Group the recipient of the 2007 “Best On-Premise Catered Event of the Year” award. The winning event, a “Rockin’ 90th Birthday Celebration” for local music industry legend and community leader Amos Heilicher, was held this past November at Nicollet Island Pavilion.
